Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field required.
• 1–2+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for automated and robotic paint systems, providing support for paint quality, process, and production issues.
• Troubleshoot paint coating and finish quality issues and identify process adjustments needed to improve quality and reduce rework.
• Analyze and optimize automated paint processes, including line speeds, cycle times, and process parameters to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Perform line balancing of automated processes and establish manpower requirements and expected production performance.
• Monitor and adjust paint process and chemical parameters to maintain quality while reducing material usage and waste.
• Identify process improvements in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and equipment reliability.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste, improve process flow, and increase operational efficiency.
• Identify critical spare parts and process needs to help reduce equipment downtime and improve system reliability.
• Support the justification and implementation of capital projects related to automated paint systems and manufacturing process improvements.
• Review engineering BOM and develop or maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process standards.
• Determine appropriate manufacturing fixtures, plant layouts, and workstations to maximize space, efficiency, and production flow.
• Provide hands on technical support to manufacturing teams and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and external suppliers to resolve process issues.
• Support engineering calculations, investigations, projects, and reporting in accordance with JLG engineering standards and processes.
