Job summary

Stow is seeking a Beamline Welding Machine Operator for the 2nd shift to program, load, unload, and monitor automated welding robots. You will read blueprints, adjust welding parameters, and ensure quality with gauges and cameras, while performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting.

The role requires MIG/TIG skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Training in robot setup and documentation of production logs is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational training a plus.
• Previous experience with stamping and roll forming presses and manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings, schematics, welding symbols with strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of measuring tools.
• Ability to adapt and create welding jigs.
• Detail-oriented, good problem-solving, teamwork, physical stamina (lifting, standing)
• Manual welding certificate required (AWS certification preferred). MIG/TIG often required
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting
• Physical ability to lift and move parts
• Preferred experience with Siemens PLCs

Responsibilities

• Load/unload parts, position workpieces using jigs/fixtures, and initiate the robotic welding process.
• Input and adjust parameters (power, speed, pattern) for the robot controller based on engineering specs.
• Visually inspect welds, use measuring tools (gauges, calipers), and remove spatter to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Perform routine upkeep like cleaning nozzles, changing wire/tips, lubricating, and reporting malfunctions.
• Identify and resolve errors or system malfunctions during production runs.
• Complete production logs, downtime reports, and quality records.
• Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and wear required PPE.
