Job Description

Star Automation, Inc. was established in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, in 1991. We specialize in automatic unloaders & custom automation solutions to increase productivity, profitability and safety for injection molders worldwide.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Robotic Assembler to join our dynamic team in Menomonee Falls, WI. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the assembly of advanced robotic systems. If you have a passion for robotics and enjoy mechanical and electrical projects, can work well independently, and have strong communication skills, we want to hear from you!

Summary

The individual is responsible for assembly of precision robots and secondary equipment. They will also conduct final testing and run off of systems upon completion. Extensive use of hand and power tools is required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Reads and follows blueprints, routers, specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts and equipment in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Operates overhead crane and fork trucks while moving and assembling product.
  • Prepare equipment for shipping.
  • Operates machine shop equipment.
  • Perform full testing of functionality of robotic operations of each system to ensure customer’s needs.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned

Education And/or Experience

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a High School Degree.Certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant manufacturing/mechanical experience..
  • Requires mechanical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and understand the metric system.
  • Preferred experience of working with electrical wiring and reading related drawings.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Must be familiar with portable power tool and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw and grinder.
  • Requires basic computer knowledge and good communication skills in order to interact with employees.
  • Requires a basic knowledge of pneumatics and electronics.

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and use hands/fingers to wire and assemble machinery. The incumbent will frequently talk and listen, climb or balance and reach above shoulders. He/she will frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or touch, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and move from place to place. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay

  • Starting at $24.00 - $29.00 per hour (based on experience/qualifications)
