Job summary

Edison Welding Institute Inc. seeks a Robotic Arc Welding Technician to support research and development projects using state-of-the-art industrial arc welding/DED robots.

You will program, operate, and optimize robotic welding systems and assist engineers on project tasks in a fast-paced lab environment in Columbus, Ohio. The role requires 3+ years with robotic welding, manual welding skills, and CAD capability.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience with robotic arc welding equipment.
• Experience applying GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW in welding operations.
• Ability to program and operate industrial robotic welding systems (ABB, Fanuc, Motoman, OTC Daihen).
• CAD experience for basic drawings and prototype tools.
• Strong organization and communication skills; able to work with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, program, and operate industrial robots to project specs.
• Develop welding procedures for robotic processes including GMAW/FCAW.
• Support engineers and PMs in planning and estimating LOE.
• Interact with customers during demonstrations and clarify reports.
• Maintain records of test results and calibrate equipment.
