Job summary

Avride is preparing to launch a fleet of autonomous delivery robots in the Miami area and seeks a hands-on Robot Service Technician to support this deployment. You will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and field operation of our autonomous robots.

This role combines mechanical and electrical work in workshop and field settings. This position requires practical problem-solving skills, the ability to read 2D drawings and electrical schematics, and a

Qualifications

  • Experience using mechanical and electrical tools and reading 2D drawings.
  • Ability to read schematics and assemble electromechanical systems.
  • Experience installing and integrating components and performing repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wiring harnesses, cables, and connectors for autonomous delivery robots.
  • Install, configure, and replace sensors including LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of robot components and subsystems.
  • Follow technical documentation and procedures to ensure quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventive service on the robot fleet.
  • Diagnose failures, investigate incidents, and execute repair campaigns.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including batteries.
  • Travel between local sites to provide onsite technical support as needed.
  • Support deployment, testing, and validation of robots in real-world environments.

About The Role

Avride is preparing to launch a fleet of autonomous delivery robots at Cal Poly OSU and is seeking a hands‑on Robot Service Technician to support this exciting deployment. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and field operation of our autonomous delivery robots. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working across mechanical and electrical systems, and contributing to the advancement of cutting‑edge robotics technology in a fast‑paced, real‑world environment.

What You’ll Do
Production & assembly
  • Assemble wiring harnesses, cables, and connectors for autonomous delivery robots
  • Install, configure, and replace sensors including LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of robot components and subsystems
  • Follow technical documentation, schematics, and assembly procedures to ensure quality standards
Maintenance & repair
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventive service on the robot fleet
  • Diagnose failures, investigate incidents, and execute repair and service campaigns
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including suspension and battery components
  • Document maintenance activities and service findings
Field operations support
  • Travel between local sites to provide onsite technical support as needed
  • Support deployment, testing, and validation of autonomous delivery robots in real‑world environments
  • Assist with inventory management, equipment tracking, and parts organization
  • Participate in rapid prototyping and hardware validation efforts
What You’ll Need
  • Experience using mechanical and electrical tools, including measuring equipment
  • Experience assembling and disassembling electrical and electromechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D mechanical drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience installing and integrating custom electronic modules
  • Understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and safe working practices
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Comfortable working both in a workshop environment and in the field
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem‑solving
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Adaptable, proactive mindset with the ability to handle a variety of technical tasks
Nice to Have
  • Experience in automotive service, vehicle retrofitting, manufacturing, or related industries
  • Experience working with electric vehicles (EVs)
  • Soldering and wire crimping experience
  • General computer proficiency and familiarity with diagnostic tools
  • Experience supporting robotics, autonomous systems, or other advanced technologies

Commitment

This is a full‑time, ongoing contract position staffed through our trusted Employer of Record partner, who manages payroll, benefits, and local compliance on our behalf. You will work day‑to‑day with the Avride team and be fully integrated into our culture and operations. This job is onsite and available to candidates local to the Miami, FL area.
