Job summary

A Fast Growing AI Robotics Company in Austin, TX is seeking a Robot Operations Site Lead to serve as the onsite leadership presence for an active robot deployment at a manufacturing facility in the Taylor, TX area.

You will oversee day-to-day execution, safety, and performance of a small team of Robot Operators in a live industrial environment, while owning shift coordination and real-time communication with remote Robot Operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Direct experience in factory, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments.
• Previous experience in a team lead, supervisor, or senior operator role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to produce shift and bug reports and operational updates.
• Experience with structured safety protocols and coaching teams in real-time.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Taylor, TX.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily toolbox talks and pre-shift safety briefings and reinforce safety protocols onsite.
• Own shift scheduling and operator assignments with two-person coverage.
• Perform Robot Operator responsibilities and develop proficiency as a Teleoperator.
• Oversee task setup/teardown and prepare required documentation equipment.
• Lead the onsite operator team, monitor execution quality, and address performance gaps.
• Enforce SOPs/checklists and elevate process improvements to leadership.
• Coordinate with remote leadership and deployment facility staff for needs and handoffs.
• Ensure end-of-day shift reports, bug reports, and safety issues are documented and communicated on time.

HireArt is helping our client find a Robot Operations Site Lead to serve as the onsite leadership presence for an active robot deployment at a manufacturing facility in the Taylor, TX area.

In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day execution, safety, and performance of a small team of Robot Operators working in a live industrial environment. As a hands-on working lead, you’ll be expected to perform operator functions while also owning shift coordination, team accountability, procedural compliance, and real-time communication with remote Robot Operations leadership.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing, factory, or industrial automation environment and understands how structured operations and safety procedures work in practice. You’re a confident and dependable team leader who can maintain high operational standards, coach others in real time, and take ownership when issues arise.

As a Robot Operations Site Lead, you will

• Lead daily toolbox talks and pre-shift safety briefings and reinforce established safety protocols throughout onsite operations.
• Own shift scheduling and daily operator assignments, ensuring required two-person coverage is maintained for all robot operation sessions.
• Perform Robot Operator responsibilities, including Safety Operator and Laptop Operator functions, and develop proficiency as a Teleoperator through structured training.
• Oversee and perform task setup and teardown, including positioning robots and equipment and preparing required support and documentation equipment.
• Lead the onsite operator team by monitoring execution quality, coaching team members on procedural compliance, and addressing performance gaps in real time.
• Enforce established SOPs and checklists, identify gaps or outdated procedures, and elevate recommended process improvements to Robot Operations leadership.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the onsite team, remote Robot Operations leadership, and deployment facility staff, coordinating operational needs, shift handoffs, access logistics, status updates, and issue escalation.
• Ensure end-of-day shift reports, bug reports, and safety issues are documented and communicated accurately and on time in accordance with established protocols.

Requirements

• Direct experience working in a factory, manufacturing, or industrial automation environment
• Previous experience in a team lead, supervisor, senior operator, or similar leadership role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to independently produce clear shift reports, bug reports, and operational updates
• Experience working within structured safety protocols and the ability to consistently reinforce them across a team
• Strong operational judgment, with the ability to identify process issues, respond appropriately, and clearly escalating concerns
• Ability to work fully onsite in Taylor, TX

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics systems, virtual reality, teleoperation, or automation equipment
• Familiarity with structured operational documentation, including SOPs, checklists, and shift logs
• Experience coordinating with external partners or customer facility stakeholders
• Ability to quickly learn new technical tools, such as fleet dashboards, scheduling platforms, and issue-tracking systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout an active factory floor for extended periods
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment alongside machines and automated equipment
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, safety-toe footwear, ear protection, and other facility-required equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Commitment

This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt. This is a fully onsite role at a customer production facility in the Taylor, TX area, with limited work potentially performed from a local company field office.
