Zoox is seeking an engineer for fail-operational planning to advance motion and behavioral planning in complex driving scenarios. You will own projects and contribute to cross-functional teams across Planner, Perception, Prediction, and Hardware.

The role requires a Master’s degree in CS or related field, strong C++ programming ability, and 4+ years in a related field, with compensation reflecting the senior robotics focus and location in Foster City, CA.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Computer Science or related field.
• Fluency in C++.
• Extensive experience with programming and algorithm design.
• Understanding of vehicle kinematics.
• 4+ years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Create principled algorithmic improvements to driving behavior and implement changes in our code base.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop strategies and intelligent behaviors to mitigate performance degradation under failure modes.
• Architect and implement scalable solutions ensuring seamless integration with the driving stack.
• Partner with validation teams to define and execute tests for developed algorithms.
