Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. in Wixom, MI is seeking a Robot Engineer / Programmer to join our team. The role requires strong robotics experience and hands-on programming across FANUC and other systems, with vision and I/O setup, and travel as needed.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in robotics, ability to read electrical/pneumatic prints, and familiarity with vision systems and PLCs. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills are essential for project success and on-site support.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of working with robotics.
• Able to read Electrical and Pneumatic Prints.
• FANUC iRVision (2D or 3D/V/L) experience preferred
• Strong Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with Robotic Path Teaching.
• Understand Cartesian coordinates relative to EOAT & frames/work objects.
• Vision Systems experience is helpful.
• Basic/intermediate programming in VB/C/C++ recommended.
• PLC troubleshooting experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Write Robot Software and Load Robot Programs with I/O configuration.
• Create and maintain Robotic Simulations for stations (if applicable).
• Perform path teaching and vision teaching as needed.
• Support installation, start-up, and production issues.
• Provide debugging support with team and vendor cooperation.
• Assist in setting up communication protocols (DeviceNet, ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP).
• Travel up to ~75% as required.

Position Summary

Robot Engineer / Programmer

Fives DyAG Corp. is looking for a Robot Engineer / Programmer to join our team based out of our Wixom, MI office. Fives DyAG's engineers work in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.

Job Description

• Strong and recent background in two of the following robots: Fanuc, ABB, or Kuka.
• Able to do Advanced Programming in the two robots they have the most knowledge. Will consider candidates with strong programming with only one system as well.
• Experience with setup and training on Vision Systems on which ever robot they have the most knowledge is ideal.
• Experience setting up various robot communication protocols (i.e. DeviceNet, Profibus, ProfiNet, Ethernet IP).
• Create Robotic Simulations of Robotic Stations (if Simulation Engineer)
• Write Robot Software
• Load Robot Programs and configure I/O
• Path Teaching
• Vision Teaching (if required)
• Debug Support with Team
• Installation Start-Up support
• Production Support

Skills/Experience Required

• 2+ years of working with robotics
• Able to read Electrical and Pneumatic Prints.
• Previous experience with FANUC iRVision (2D or 3DV/L) is highly preferred
• Strong Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Very proficient with Robotic Path Teaching.
• Complete understanding of Cartesian coordinate system as it relates to a robot's EOAT & Frames/Work Objects, and the ability to teach such frames.
• Experience with Vision Systems is helpful.
• Ability to do basic/intermediate programming in other programming languages (i.e. Visual Basic, C or C++ language).
• Troubleshooting experience with PLC programs is helpful.

Willing to travel (sometimes this can be up to 75%)

Education

Associates or Bachelor of Science in related field (BSEE, BSEET, BS Industrial Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechatronics, etc.). Equivalent years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
