Paradowski Creative is now accepting applications for contract Roblox Developer roles!

We are seeking talented Roblox developers (based in the United States of America) for several contract roles, with potential opportunities spanning 3 to 9 months. We’re eager to expand our network of skilled developers for upcoming opportunities to support our in-house team. You'll be working on a professional team of talented senior engineers, technical artists, animators, and strategists who are committed to doing unique and exciting things on Roblox.

These roles are not yet active, but we’re gearing up for exciting opportunities soon. Our goal is to connect with talented individuals now, so we’re ready to hit the ground running with the right team in place.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled programmer in Lua and have a deep understanding of Roblox Studio APIs and services. We understand that not everything can be known in this field, but the right candidate is willing to learn new things quickly and has a desire to keep up with current trends and technologies. We are looking for creative thinkers who want to help create Roblox games that push the limits of the platform.

Responsibilities:

1. Spearhead implementation of a variety of game features in Roblox Studio ranging from UI, character controllers and animation, gameplay systems, anti-cheat networking, and more.
2. Collaborate with tech, creative, and account teams to design and engineer innovative, engaging gameplay. We are looking for active collaboration. Your input will be heard and will help influence design and development decisions.
3. Partner with project leaders on quality assurance across a range of devices and input modes.
4. Pair with senior developers to understand team tools, techniques, and processes, including Git version control and code review. Applicants should be comfortable working with agile tools like Jira and both having and giving code review.
5. Playtest and troubleshoot bugs and other problems.

Requirements:

1. Demonstrated proficiency with Roblox scripting, services, and APIs — including published games we can check out. Ideal applicants will be well-versed in both gameplay mechanics and gameplay system development.
2. Ability to adapt and integrate into a specific, pre-established custom development environment and workflow.
3. Experience writing secure code on both the server and client side to circumvent security risks and gameplay exploits.
4. Strong communication and organization skills.
5. Comfort taking direction from game designers and art directors to achieve a shared team vision for a Roblox feature.
6. Experience working with Roblox Studio’s Packages system.
7. Participate in sprint planning sessions and give accurate estimates for development work.
8. Experience with community tools like Rojo for synchronizing code between Roblox Studio and an external editor.
9. Based in the United States.

Nice-to-Haves:

1. Experience with ReactLua or ReactJS. We use this framework for handling UI.
2. Experience working with external Lua packages and the Wally package manager.
3. Optimization, loading, and content streaming experience.
4. 3D math knowledge applicable to gameplay mechanics.
5. Experience developing for advanced character controllers.
6. Broader experience with professional development teams across other languages, engines, and fields of interactive development. Concepts like working with REST APIs, OAuth, and secrets are particularly useful.
