Job description

Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute is searching for a Research Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Compose research papers, progress reports, and documentation (10%).
  2. Develop a full stack IoT framework for connected robotic devices (30%).
  3. Follow research plans to collect, record, and manipulate research data. Maintain accurate and detailed research records and files.
  4. Test software prototypes and interact with research subjects as needed.
  5. Provide technical support for the engineering team in the Biorobotics lab (10%).
  6. Design, develop, and test mechatronics and embedded systems hardware and software for robotic medical and industrial applications (50%).
  7. Perform basic data analysis to produce reports and document results and processes.
  8. Conduct library research and field explorations.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 0-1 years of Data Entry, Data Collection and Analysis, Record Management, and Research Experience.
Training:
  • OSHA Hazardous Materials Safety Training.
