Job summary

Congruex is seeking a Traffic Control Technician to set up and maintain safe work zones, direct traffic, place signage, cones and barriers, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The role supports safe operation around construction and maintenance sites in the United States.

The technician will work outdoors, stand for long periods, and follow TCPs under supervision. A valid driver’s license and TCT/Flagger certification are required, with high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Certification as a Traffic Control Technician (TCT) or Flagger (e.g., ATSSA, NSC, or state-specific).
• Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and signage standards.
• Good communication and situational awareness.

Responsibilities

• Set up, monitor, and remove temporary traffic control setups such as cones, signs, barricades, and arrow boards.
• Direct traffic using signs, hand signals, and flagging devices.
• Ensure traffic flow is managed safely around construction or maintenance zones.
• Follow and implement traffic control plans (TCPs) as directed by supervisors or engineers.
• Conduct regular inspections of the work zone to ensure compliance with safety standards and correct setup.
• Report incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain communication with work crews and emergency personnel as needed.
• Operate traffic control devices, such as AFADs, when applicable.
• Perform basic maintenance of equipment and tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
