Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Roadway Technician to join the Transportation department. You will operate County equipment and vehicles to construct and maintain roads and related structures, and install traffic control in construction zones in accordance with MUTCD and county standards.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and timely public service delivery. Experience in traffic control or road construction, along with a valid driver's license, are required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in traffic control, or traffic operations, including installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, or two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or construction of roads

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic control signing and barricading during emergencies and floods.
• Inspect barricades, lights, signs, sandbags, and sign spacing daily to ensure proper traffic control set-ups.
• Create work orders and tasks, complete daily written reports, enter information into the asset management system (Cartegraph), and document pre- and post-trip inspections for all assigned equipment.
• Participate in special projects, emergencies, and on-call standby for emergency requests.
