Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • Five years of relevant experience in transportation project design.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and design teams for project execution.
  • Oversee plan production and maintain client interactions.

Garver is seeking a Transportation Roadway Team Leader to join our growing team in the Memphis/Nashville area. They will be mentored and trained as seller-doers with opportunities to market our services, interact with the biggest transportation clients in Tennessee, and grow their career.

Responsibilities:
  • Sub-consultant and design team coordination
  • Plan production oversight
  • Client interaction
Technical experience should include:
  • Geometric design for roadways/interchanges
  • Construction sequencing and traffic control
  • Utility relocation coordination
  • Marketing activities may include assisting in the production of proposals and letters of interest, as well as participation in interviews and other presentations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Tennessee, or will have the ability to obtain reciprocity within three months of hire
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience
  • Practical working knowledge of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD) as well as TDOT Design manuals and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on TDOT (or other DOT) transportation project design
