Job summary

Pulice is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site heavy civil construction projects in Texas. You will supervise production, coordinate workforce and equipment, and ensure compliance with contract drawings and safety standards.

You bring 8+ years in heavy civil construction and 5+ years in construction management, plus a valid driver’s license. The role emphasizes scheduling, risk management, and collaboration with field teams and vendors to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
  • 5+ years construction management experience.
  • STS certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of site equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of site safety protocols and ability to enforce safety programs.
  • Knowledge of local union or prevailing wage rules.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract plans.
  • Mathematics concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work; review daily and update weekly schedules.
  • Review project specifications; coordinate with field teams, engineers and utilities to identify hazards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure equipment and material readiness within budget and schedule.
  • Forecast schedules and provide scheduling recommendations to mitigate production issues.
  • Provide input to identify and resolve project risks including methods, plans, materials, safety and schedule activities.
  • Document daily activities and meeting notes using company methods.
  • Promote adherence to safety and process controls; identify training needs on site.
  • Supervise subcontractor production; adjust schedules or methods as needed.

As a Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our construction projects. Your expertise in scheduling, coordinating, and supervising production and workforce will ensure that every task is executed seamlessly and efficiently.

Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to ensure project compliance with contract drawings and specifications.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work. Reviews daily work schedule with direct reports and updates weekly schedule from project feedback.
  • Review and understands the project specifications to support job set up activities. Works with work crews, field engineers and local utility companies to identify hazardous areas on job site.
  • Coordinate with internal equipment team and external vendors to ensure that project work is equipped with appropriate equipment and material quantities to complete production within assigned budget and schedule.
  • Forecast the work schedule to identify possible issues and provides technical or scheduling recommendations to mitigate production issues.
  • Provide technical input to identify and resolve project risks including construction methods, work plan and material requirements, safety and schedule activities. Documents daily activities and meeting notes using Company approved document methods.
  • Support and promotes strict adherence to safety and process controls regarding operating equipment, worksite safety and documentation requirements. Responsibility includes recommending training needs identified on jobsite.
  • Supervise sub-contractor production and workforce regarding assigned project work. Recommends work schedule or work method adjustments regarding sub-contractor activities.
Who You Are
  • 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience required.
  • 5+ years construction management experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree a plus.
  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules, if applicable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract specific plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
