Job summary

Summit Design and Engineering Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer specialized in land development in Raleigh, NC.

You will analyze and design civil components under a project manager, deliver design calculations, permit applications, and plan sets for storm drainage, sewer mains, grading, sediment control, and roadways. You will produce final grading plans in Civil 3D, coordinate with permitting agencies, and drive timely submittals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical certificate required.
• Practical knowledge of land development design and methods.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and associated design and modeling software.
• Knowledge of Civil Engineering design requirements and principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical information.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Valid Driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design civil engineering land development components under supervision.
• Provide design calculations, reports, permits, and plan sets for storm drainage, sewers, mass grading, sediment control, and roadways.
• Generate final grading plans using Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with permitting agencies and respond to comments.
• Oversee construction administration duties: meetings, site visits, RFIs, shop drawings review.
• Manage deadlines to keep project schedule on track.
• Interface with clients and update project status as required.
• Maintain client relationships and drive team performance.
