Job summary

King County Road Services Division seeks two Sign and Marking Specialists II to install and maintain traffic signs, pavement markings, and stripe applications across unincorporated King County and contracted jurisdictions.

Ideal candidates bring experience with road signs, crosswalks, arrows, and lane markings, plus proficiency with paint equipment and striping trucks. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and dependable field work.

Qualifications

Experience installing roadway signs and markings.
Experience applying paint and thermoplastic materials for roadway markings, including crosswalks, arrows, legends, and lane lines.
Proficiency operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting paint equipment such as compressors, spray guns, thermoplastic applicators, and center-line striping machines.
Experience operating and maintaining a Road-way Striping Truck.

Responsibilities

Prepare road surfaces for markings and set up signs as needed.
Apply paint and thermoplastic materials to create clear roadway markings including crosswalks, arrows, and lane dividers.
Install traffic signs and secure pavement markings.
Operate a striping truck and maintain associated equipment.
Maintain accurate daily logs and report in work order system.
Provide traffic control with flagging and signs to ensure safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
