Job summary

Suffolk County Water Authority in New York is seeking a professional to oversee and inspect roadway restorations performed by pavement contractors. You will create contractor instructions, modify drawings, and prepare field sketches for proposed restorations, coordinating with municipal agencies.

The role requires interfacing with contractors outdoors, strong communication, and a valid NY driver’s license. Hours are Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm; annual salary will be commensurate with education

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of working knowledge of construction industry, specifically road construction.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interface with contractors and work outdoors.
• Candidate must possess a valid NY State driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect the restoration of roadways by pavement contractors.
• Create instructions to contractors including modifying drawings, issuing materials.
• Create field sketch measurements for proposed pavement restorations.
• Coordinate road restoration with appropriate municipal agencies and representatives.
• Issue materials and paint field mark-outs for roadway restorations.
