Job summary

Techno is seeking a Senior Inspector to oversee field activities on major transportation and infrastructure projects in Nassau and Suffolk counties (Region 10). This role focuses on guiding daily inspection operations, ensuring compliance with NYSDOT specs, and supporting safety on busy urban and suburban sites.

With 8+ years in construction inspection, and credentials such as NICET II/III or a civil engineering related degree, you will coordinate with contractors and staff, prepare detailed

Qualifications

• NICET II/III certification or a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with NYSDOT Region 10 projects strongly preferred.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily inspection operations across active construction sites.
• Monitor contractor activities, materials, installation methods, and sequencing of work.
• Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports of labor, equipment, quantities, and site conditions.
• Track installed quantities and support payment verification processes.
• Coordinate with field and office teams to address RFIs and ongoing activities.
• Identify non-conforming work and support resolution through documentation.
• Support site safety by monitoring conditions and reinforcing safety protocols.
• Provide direction to junior inspectors to ensure reporting consistency.
