Job summary

CME Associates in Kentucky is seeking a Roadway Design Project Manager to lead signature projects, mentor junior staff, and advance to PM responsibilities. You will coordinate with project managers, prepare design documents, assist with permits, and ensure schedules and budgets are met. The role supports growth within a transportation family ranked nationally.

The position offers hybrid work options and opportunities to develop expertise across multiple roadway design tasks on notable projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years experience in roadway design.
• Experience in people management or supervision.
• OpenRoads Designer experience preferred.
• PE Certification preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
• Proficient with standard industry software and MS Office.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and meet deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior staff while managing multiple roadway design tasks.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to meet schedule and budget requirements.
• Opportunity to be mentored and progress to Project Manager.
• Prepare accurate presentations, designs, details, and construction documents.
• Prepare permit applications and submittal packages to agencies.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utilities and contractors.
• Develop and adhere to project scope, schedules, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and mentorship of junior staff while managing the completion of multiple roadway design tasks
• Coordination with Project Managers to meet schedule and budget requirements
• Opportunity to be mentored and ultimately take on responsibilities as a Project Manager
• Preparation of accurate presentation, design, details and construction documents.
• Preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to Agencies having jurisdiction.
• Coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utility providers, contractors and other parties associated with the project.
• Development and adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• A minimum of 6 years experience in all technical aspects of roadway design
• Experience in people management or supervision
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer preferred
• PE Certification is preferred
• Detail-oriented individual with strong technical and organizational skills
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing and standard industry software.
• Works well in multidisciplinary team environments and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
