Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in the design of streets and highways.
• Proven ability to manage multiple team members and coordinate effectively with other engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary engineering reports and presentations.

Skills

Proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil3D software

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related curriculum

Licensed Professional Engineer in CO or ability to obtain

Job description

Wilson & Company’s Denver Office is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in Transportation/Roadway design to lead and direct high‑level roadway design projects primarily in Colorado, with opportunities across the company.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Client interaction and coordination on a frequent basis.
• Coordinate plans and schedules of detailed phases of engineering work and design of major projects.
• Monitor time schedules, job costs and adjust to comply with each.
• Perform design calculations and check design work of staff and design engineers.
• Supervise assistants, designers, technicians, and CADD operators/drafters.
• Coordinate other disciplines and sub‑consultants to ensure timely completion.
• Prepare preliminary engineering reports, feasibility reports, and presentations to clients or stakeholders.
• Lead client engagement and develop strategies for winning work.
• Develop and execute winning proposals in coordination with marketing staff.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil3D software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related curriculum.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in CO or ability to obtain within four months.
• 10+ years’ experience in the design of streets and highways.
• Proven ability to manage multiple team members and coordinate effectively with other engineers and technicians.
• Knowledge and experience with federal, state, and local regulations that pertain to the design of street and/or highway projects.

Salary & Location

Annual salary range: $115,000—$150,000+, depending on experience. Job location: Denver, Colorado, United States.
