Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking an engineer to produce and modify design calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications for diverse infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior staff and coordinate with clients and partners to meet project goals.

The role supports multidisciplinary teams, coordinates across disciplines, and participates in proposal work while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with relevant experience.
• Senior candidates may hold a Master’s degree or PhD with applicable experience.
• PE certification is preferred; AICP may be required depending on discipline.

This position consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery. It applies engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.In this role, you will leverage your technical knowledge and experience to address design‑related issues or concerns, working closely with the project manager through creative problem solving, interactions with clients, and timely task completion to meet project schedules. You will develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project delivery using current design tools, programs, and software.A key expectation of this role is to mentor and support the growth of junior engineering staff. You will provide guidance, review their work, and offer constructive feedback to help develop the next generation of technical talent within the team.This role may also lead design efforts on projects, coordinating technical tasks, guiding design approaches, and supporting quality delivery across multidisciplinary teams.As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects for HNTB’s clients.What You'll Do:Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
