Job summary

Western Rock Products, a CRH Company, is seeking a Prep crew laborer to support highway, grade and paving crews. You will perform manual tasks to prepare ground for road construction, including grading, leveling, and assisting with base and paving operations.

This role requires the ability to read instructions, work safely, and operate hand tools. You will load materials, help with traffic control, and keep the site organized while following OSHA/MSHA safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform manual labor tasks.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ground Preparation / Road Base Work: grade and level subgrade, move materials, set grade stakes.
• Paving & Grade Crew Support: rake and level material behind paving equipment, assist with shaping roadway surfaces.
• Material Handling & Site Setup: load/unload materials, assist with traffic control, keep tools and site organized.
• General Labor Duties: dig, sweep, operate small power tools as needed.
• Safety & Compliance: follow OSHA/MSHA safety procedures and report hazards.
