Job summary

The City of Houston seeks a Pavement Marking Crew Member to install and maintain roadway markings, restripe lines, and apply thermoplastic or paint markings on busy streets. The role also involves placing RPMs and operating striping trucks with traffic control duties under supervision.

You will set up and remove traffic control devices for events or emergencies, respond to citizen traffic concerns, and use digital work orders on tablets.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent with basic reading and arithmetic skills.
• Six (6) months of manual/field work experience with power tools or equipment.
• May require a valid Texas driver’s license; CDL may be required depending on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain roadway markings, restripe lane lines, and apply thermoplastic/paint markings.
• Operate striping trucks and other heavy equipment; perform traffic control duties including flagging.
• Set up and remove Traffic Control devices for events or emergencies; respond to citizen traffic concerns.
• Utilize digital work orders and tablets to manage tasks; communicate with team and other departments.
