Job summary

The City of South Fulton is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to assist in the construction, repair, and maintenance of city roadways and rights-of-way. This role may require off-hours on-call response.

You will perform litter removal, install concrete, dig trenches, clear debris, operate equipment, patch potholes, flag traffic, and support safety with regular vehicle checks. A valid GA driver’s license, HS diploma or GED, and 1 year of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in grounds keeping, maintenance, custodial or related field.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance on city rights-of-way or property.
• Litter and illegal dumping removal.
• Assist with installation of concrete and trench digging.
• Clears debris from roadways and assists with pothole patching.
• Operate equipment; flags traffic at projects.
• Perform vegetation control and emergency hazard response.
• Supports safety standards and uses safety equipment.
• Conducts pre-/post-trip inspections of city vehicle.
