Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Must obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment and maintain thereafter.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods and procedures.
• Safety shoes required.
• Skill in operation and maintenance of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain highway equipment to perform maintenance and construction tasks.
• Perform snow removal, debris clearance and emergency roadway operations.
• Apply MUTCD for detours, lane closures and work zones with proper traffic control.
• Follow OSHA/VOSHA safety rules and wear proper PPE on all tasks.
• Work as part of a crew to complete projects and maintain records.
