Job summary

State of Iowa seeks a Highway Technician Associate in Newton to support roadside maintenance and operating duties. Responsibilities include patching roadways, maintaining signs and guardrails, traffic control, litter removal, snow operations, and routine equipment servicing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL permit required on hire; endorsements to be obtained within 5 months.

Responsibilities

• Patch roadways and maintain/repair guardrails, signs, fences, lighting, culverts, and waterways.
• Assist in traffic control during maintenance activities.
• Perform litter/debris removal and snow/ice removal.
• Mow and control vegetation; apply spraying as needed.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on DOT equipment and vehicles.
