Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• CDL exam: pass written portion and driving portion with tanker endorsement, Class B, interstate status within 60 days.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Maintains state highway systems by filling joints and cracks, patching potholes, and directing traffic.
• Maintains, cleans, and repairs highway facilities including signs, guardrails, curbs, and equipment.
• Operates vehicles to transport employees and materials, plow snow, and spread ice control materials.
• May repair bridge decks and drains and work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• May install and repair signs, including large overhead signs and posts.
