Job summary

Saline County is seeking a Road Laborer to perform outside maintenance across county properties, including mowing, weed eating, and watering. The role involves safely operating road maintenance equipment and handling traffic flagging during repairs, with emphasis on alertness and safety.

Qualifications include high school or GED and 12–18 months of related experience. A valid Arkansas driver’s license is required and employment includes safety-sensitive screening and in-house training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus on-the-job training in mowing/road clearing equipment.
• 12–18 months of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass and clear bushes in county rights-of-way.
• Set up signage and flag traffic during road maintenance.
• Operate hand tools including chain saw for clearing rights-of-way.
• Shovel gravel and other materials from trucks to repair areas.
• Transport materials for road repair and replace road signs as needed.
