Job summary

TxDOT's Austin District seeks a Maintenance Section Supervisor III for Burnet, TX. This role leads a maintenance section, overseeing crews and contractors to keep more than 1,000 lane miles safe and functional.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, emergency response planning, and ensuring safety guidelines. The position requires a state vehicle and CDL, with on-site work at Burnet. It offers a full-time schedule and benefits.

Qualifications

• 9 YEARS roadway maintenance or construction-related work.
• Must have 3 YEARS supervisory/managerial experience.
• Commercial driver's license (CDL) and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspects road conditions, work-in-progress and work completed by crews and contractors.
• Plans, coordinates and implements emergency response to inclement weather, flooding, accidents and hazardous material spills affecting area roadways.
• Plans, schedules and coordinates work project needs with the Area Engineer and district staff.
• Prepares and monitors the budget.
• Oversees the operation and maintenance of light and heavy equipment.
• Trains other employees.
• Responds to emergency notification on an as-needed basis.
