Job summary

The North Dakota Department of Transportation is seeking an Equipment Operator II for the Minot district to perform highway and structure maintenance, including snow and ice control, paving, and sign/guardrail work. You will operate heavy equipment and complete routine reports as part of a safety‑driven team.

The role requires a valid North Dakota Class A license with a cargo tank endorsement and two years of related experience (or one year plus one winter season).

Qualifications

• Valid North Dakota Class A driver license with no air brake restrictions and cargo tank endorsement.
• Two years of relevant experience or one year plus one winter-operations season.
• Willingness to report to work within 30 minutes, during emergencies, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance including snow and ice control.
• Complete paving, pothole repair, crack sealing, concrete repair, bridge cleaning, signage and guardrail maintenance.
• Keep roadways clear of hazards and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain records such as time sheets, activity reports and road condition documentation.
