County of Burleigh is seeking a Journeyman Automotive/Heavy Equipment Mechanic with welding skills in Burleigh County, Bismarck Shop. You will work under the Highway Maintenance Supervisor performing complex vehicle maintenance and leading small crews.

The role requires a CDL Class A with N endorsement, 18+ years old, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read/write. You must pass background checks, drug screening, and a physical exam, and be ready to work on all road and bridge

Formación

• Must be a high school graduate or GED, 18+ and able to read/write.
• Must possess and retain a CDL Class A license with N endorsement, no air brake restrictions.
• Preferably have 2+ years experience as Highway Maintenance Worker I or similar construction work.
• Must live within approximately 60 minutes of the assigned shop.
• Candidates must pass standard background/criminal checks, plus alcohol/substance test and physical exam (costs paid by County).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided.

Responsabilidades

• Perform journeyman level automotive/heavy equipment mechanics and welding under supervision.
• Labor duties on Road/Bridge projects including asphalt patching, mowing, culvert prep, snow removal, gravel and roadway maintenance.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
• Operate power tools, trucks, motor graders, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment safely.
• Act as Team Lead (Straw Boss) on small, temporary crews as assigned by supervisor.
