Job summary

The State of Indiana, through the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), seeks a Highway Maintenance Laborer for the Miller Unit to keep highways safe and clean. Duties include pothole repair, snow removal, and traffic control. Entry-level with overtime opportunities and potential for advancement.

Base pay starts at $20/hour with CDL add-on of $1/hour for eligible positions; CDL within 90 days. Eligible employees receive a robust benefits package including health plans, retirement

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and operate highway maintenance equipment.
• Must pass drug test and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks: clean, repair, and drain systems; pothole filling; snow/ice removal.
• Assist with traffic control and emergency road operations.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment; inspect and refuel as needed.
• Attend assigned worksite and support ongoing road maintenance activities.
