Job summary

The City of Pigeon Forge is seeking a Highway Maintenance worker to perform road upkeep, mowing, and debris removal using a variety of heavy equipment. The role supports the Street Department in keeping roadways safe and functional.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months’ experience with highway maintenance and heavy machinery, plus a Tennessee Class B CDL. Non-exempt, full-time position requiring physical work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
• Minimum six months of experience in highway maintenance operations and operating heavy equipment.
• Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, required and the ability to be insured at standard vehicle liability rates.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and machinery for highway construction and maintenance.
• Mow shoulders and medians and clear brush along city roadways.
• Direct traffic and ensure public safety during mowing and road work.
