Job summary

EMERY SAPP & SONS is seeking a Roadway Estimator to develop detailed estimates for highway projects in Missouri. You will analyze plans, profiles, cross sections, and specs to support competitive bids.

The role requires experience in highway construction, understanding grading operations, and the ability to interpret roadway design sequencing. MoDOT specifications knowledge is a plus, with collaboration across field teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience in highway road construction.
• Ability to interpret roadway design plans and sequencing.
• Knowledge of MoDOT specifications and bidding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Analyze roadway plans, profiles, cross sections, and specifications.
• Complete earthwork calculations and mass haul evaluations.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs for grading, base, stabilization, guardrail, signage, and roadway features.
• Evaluate equipment production rates and manpower requirements.
• Coordinate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist with bid strategy development and risk assessments.
• Support field teams during project startup and estimate turnover.
