Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Worker II (S) in the Division of Highways. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years of related equipment operation experience.
• Valid NC driver’s license or out-of-state license with ability to obtain NC CDL within 360 days.
• No more than two moving violations in 3 years; no alcohol/drug-related offenses in 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Set up work zones and traffic control devices.
• Repair asphalt and clear debris.
• Assist drainage and pipe installation; operate listed equipment.
• Perform manual labor and assist with emergencies.
• Work in challenging terrain and weather; may require nights/weekends/holidays.
