Job summary

Green County is seeking an Equipment Operator to perform manual labor and operate a wide range of road maintenance equipment. The role supports the Highway Department in keeping roads and right-of-ways in good repair and safe for the public.

Responsibilities include operating trucks and other equipment, maintaining sites, and assisting with snow removal as needed. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and a CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with unrestricted privileges.
• CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement preferred.
• Must be able to pass random DOT drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate road maintenance and repair vehicles and equipment.
• Repair and maintain right-of-way areas and roads.
• Manage traffic flow and ensure highway worker safety.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and perform minor repairs.
• Complete time cards and pre-trip inspection forms daily.
