Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Roadway Engineering Intern to gain real-world experience on highway projects in Billings, Montana.

You will work under the supervision of a professional or Project Manager while applying standard engineering techniques and collaborating with mentors to grow your skills. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate civil engineering programs, with strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program with demonstrated interest in civil road/highway projects.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under supervision with mentors.
• Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering software packages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on highway/roadway projects.
• Connect with peers and company leaders through mentoring programs.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to tasks.

In the role of Roadway Engineering Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward civil engineering degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Must be able to report to Billings, MT or Helena, MT
• Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program

• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Montana: $24- $26
