Overview

Our Colorado Springs, CO office is seeking a full-time Engineer in Training to support our Roadway group. The ideal candidate will have experience in Roadway and great communication skills, enjoy being part of a team environment, and be a self‑starter with high attention to detail who wants to advance their career in civil design. The role involves collaborating with other disciplines, project managers, support staff, and clients to ensure the successful completion of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic design of Roadway.
• Support production of construction plans and documents.
• Complete quantity take-offs and cost estimating.
• Coordinate with other disciplines both internal and external.

Required Skills

• Strong work ethic and an understanding of engineering principles.
• Experience in CADD utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
• Proven teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite products including Word and Excel.
• Good intrapersonal skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related curriculum from an ABET accredited school.
• Engineering Intern Certification.
• 1-3 years’ experience in civil design.
• Ability to effectively work with other engineers and technicians.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation software is highly preferred.

Hourly Earnings: $36.00 - $45.00 (Depending on Experience)
