The Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission is seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our team in Berea, Ohio. The role focuses on managing storm water systems, developing standards, and coordinating drainage projects across construction and maintenance teams.

Ideal candidates have a civil engineering background, an Ohio PE license, and at least five years of leadership in engineering or construction. Office-based with field inspections; protracted hours during construction seasons may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related curriculum.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a role managing engineering and construction personnel or projects.
• Familiarity with storm water management and hydraulic design of highway drainage facilities.
• May require certification in storm water management and erosion control.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Manages regulatory compliance of the Storm Water Management Plan through personnel training and evaluation.
• Maintains and develops standards of operations for storm water practices and controls.
• Develops new and/or alternative controls to improve storm water discharge quality.
• Monitors storm water quality discharged to the storm sewer system.
• Reviews and approves new storm water discharge permits and manages a storm water system inventory.
• Assists in reviewing and resolving construction, maintenance and environmental issues related to drainage.
• Responds to drainage complaints of neighboring property owners.
• Develops construction contract plans, specifications and cost estimates for drainage facilities.
• Reviews plans for hydraulics compliance and constructability.
