Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Professional Engineer for Roadway in Albuquerque to lead design on diverse transportation projects, from concept through construction. You will take ownership of projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure quality, budget, and schedule compliance.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a PE license or ability to obtain within one year, and 5–10 years of roadway experience. Proficiency in Bentley/Autodesk software and DOT standards is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• 5–10 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering.
• Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria.
• Proficiency using Bentley and/or Autodesk civil design software.
• Knowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures.
• Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails.
• Prepare studies, reports, memos, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects.
• Work under the direction of a Project Manager to lead the roadway design discipline and coordinate other design disciplines on projects.
• Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub consultant management.
• Take ownership of projects from start to finish, with attention to quality, budget and schedule.
• Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success.
