Lochmueller Group is seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team in the Kansas City area. This role is ideal for an engineer with 2–4 years of experience who is looking for the opportunity to work on a diverse range of roadway and transportation projects while continuing to develop both technical and professional skills.

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with roadway design plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation improvement projects.
  • Perform engineering analyses and prepare design calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Develop roadway design plans using Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer.
  • Apply roadway design standards, criteria, and engineering best practices.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client objectives.
  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support project managers in the preparation of project documentation, technical reports, and deliverables.
  • Continue developing your technical and professional skills through mentorship, project experience, and ongoing learning opportunities.

In This Position, You Will:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.2-4 years of experience in roadway and/or highway design
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certification preferred
  • Candidates actively pursuing PE licensure are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer
  • Familiarity with roadway design plans, specifications, and construction documents
