Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Roadway Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join the transportation team in Parkersburg, WV.

The position offers a competitive salary, benefits, and a hybrid work arrangement (office 2–3 days per week with flexibility for remote work). Responsibilities include data collection, condition assessments, alignment development, design of cross sections, superelevation, barriers, ADA curb ramps, roadway modeling, and MOT/traffic

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
• WV or Ohio Professional Engineer licensure required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of civil engineering design concepts required.
• Experience performing design for roadway transportation projects including cost estimating, specifications and highway plans for construction bid packages.
• Experience with transportation design standards required.
• Experience with MicroStation and ORD required.
• Prior work experience with WVDOT or ODOT; City of Columbus preferred; other state DOTs a plus.
• Experience with AutoCad and Civil3D; GIS applications like ArcGIS or Google Earth; SignCAD/AutoTurn a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel); excellent oral and written communication; team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of projects including data collection, condition assessments, and alternative analyses for reports.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, perform cross section and superelevation design, roadway modeling, and MOT/traffic related plans.
