Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Roadway Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to join our Transportation Engineering team.

You will participate in the design of roadway improvements and new construction from concept through final plans, including layouts, calculations, plan production, bid quantities, and cost estimates. The role emphasizes teamwork, coordination with clients and agencies, preparation of reports, drainage design, and development of PS&E.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• 5–10 years’ experience in roadway design preferred.
• EIT required; ability to obtain PE.
• ADOT project experience a plus.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads/AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong communication, writing skills, and attention to detail.
• Team-focused PS&E design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design roadway improvements and new construction from concept to final plans.
• Prepare layouts, calculations, construction plan production, bid quantities, and cost estimates.
• Develop drainage design and perform geometric studies.
• Prepare reports and assist in preliminary and final engineering.
• Collaborate with clients, agencies, and team members.
