Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to join our Transportation team in Kentucky.

The role offers collaboration on signature projects, mentorship from senior staff, and potential to grow into a Project Manager as you advance. Location options include Lexington, Frankfort, or Louisville with a hybrid work schedule and competitive compensation between $85,000 and $115,000 per year.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 years experience in all technical aspects of roadway design.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• PE Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the completion of roadway design tasks through collaboration with project teams and mentorship from senior engineers.
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure designs meet schedule and budget expectations.
• Gain valuable experience with the opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role through mentorship and increasing responsibility.
• Prepare timely and accurate design drawings, details, presentations, and construction documents in accordance with applicable standards.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and submittal packages for review by regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, right of way staff, utility providers, project stakeholders, and contractors under the direction of senior staff.
• Support the development and tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure project objectives are met.

Compensation: $85,000 - $115,000 / year
