Bramhall Engineering & Surveying Company is seeking a Roadway Engineer to handle ODOT and Local-Let plan preparation, geometric design, drainage, and traffic control. Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, Ohio licensure or plan to obtain it, and 5+ years of experience in roadway design and related disciplines, proficient in AutoCAD

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; EIT certification or PE license in Ohio preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Familiarity with ODOT plan preparation and knowledge of ODOT processes and design guidelines.
  • Experience in roadway and multi-modal design including horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, intersection layout, pavement design, ADA accessibility evaluation and compliance, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, and traffic control.
  • Previous exposure to ancillary project support tasks, including funding applications, project programming (including scope preparation), and project bidding services.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation and roadway design tools and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • ODOT and Local-Let plan preparation in Microstation and AutoCAD.
  • Preparing cost estimates in Excel and Estimator.
  • Preparation of exhibits for Public Involvement meetings, attendance at meetings, and assist in responding to public comments.
  • Assist in preparing written reports, including reports for preliminary engineering.
  • Ensure project development complies with the scope, schedule, and budget and ability to identify items that are outside the scope of services.
  • Assist in responding to RFPs and developing price proposals.
  • Ability to interact with clients as well as members of the public.

Role Description

BRAMHALL is seeking a Roadway Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of ODOT and Local-Let plan preparation, including geometrics, typical section development, maintenance of traffic, drainage design, traffic control, post construction stormwater BMPs, and plan quantities. Tasks also include cost estimating, assisting on completing funding applications, involvement in programming packages (including preparation of scopes, field reviews, and meetings), and involvement in bidding projects (including preparing bid documents, responding to pre-bid questions, and on-going services during construction).
