Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Highway Engineer to join our Transportation team in Bellevue, WA. You will develop roadway designs and lead design efforts from planning through construction support, collaborating with planners, engineers, and clients to deliver safe, resilient transportation solutions.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, WA PE (or comity within 6 months), and experience in highway projects; proficiency with OpenRoads, MicroStation, or Civil 3D is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Washington State PE license or ability to obtain comity within 6 months from another state.
• Experience delivering highway, roadway, or transportation design projects.
• Proficiency with roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Develop highway and roadway designs for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Apply AASHTO, DOT, and local design standards to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
• Participate in quality reviews and support project delivery throughout all design stages.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to Jacobs' culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Your Impact

As a Highway Engineer, you'll work alongside transportation experts, planners, and project managers to develop innovative roadway solutions for state, local, and federal clients. You'll contribute to projects from planning and preliminary design through final design and construction support.

Here's what you’ll need

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Washington State Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to get comity within 6 months from another state.
• Experience delivering highway, roadway, or transportation design projects.
• Proficiency with roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or Civil 3D.

The base salary range for this position is $79,900.00 to $207,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
