SC Works Trident is seeking a Roadway Design Project Manager to lead transportation improvement projects in the Carolinas, from planning through construction support, including new locations, widenings, and design-build efforts.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, and NC PE licensure with 5–10 years of roadway design experience; Proficiency in MicroStation and GEOPAK; OpenRoads a plus.

  • * Providing professional engineering design services for transportation improvements projects
  • * Overseeing design development and production of construction details, plans, specifications, and estimates including detailed engineering calculations
  • * Collaborating with clients, sub-consultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements
  • * Directing and mentoring design support staff
  • * Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data
  • * Perform routine calculations, and participating in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions
  • * Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil Engineering
  • * North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • * 5 - 10 years of transportation roadway design experience
  • * NCDOT roadway design experience (preferred)
  • * Proficiency in MicroStation and GEOPAK. OpenRoads experience is a plus
  • * Demonstrated knowledge and application of AASHTO and State DOT design standards
  • * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • * Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • * Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
