Job summary

American Structurepoint's Road Group in Columbus, OH is offering a summer internship for aspiring civil engineers. As a Road Intern, you’ll work on roadway projects for ODOT, cities, towns, and counties across Ohio, gaining practical experience and mentoring.

Most work occurs in-office with occasional site visits, supporting quantity takeoffs, ORD design sets, documentation, and construction cost estimates on diverse transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Student majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or related program with a focus on Civil Engineering
• Reliable transportation to and from the office
• Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, willingness to take on new challenges, and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

• Contribute to roadway design by working on design calculations, roadway layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and quantity and cost estimates
• Gain hands‑on experience with 3D modeling and work with tools like MicroStation/GEOPAK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Get involved in a wide variety of projects- everything from roundabouts and urban streets to rural roads, drainage improvements, and large interstate projects
• Other duties as assigned
