Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Novi, MI is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern to support field data logging, calculations and CAD tasks using OpenRoads Designer. You will help prepare graphic displays and maintain technical records under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a civil engineering degree, have completed 50 hours toward ABET-accredited program by Summer 2026, and possess basic transportation engineering knowledge, CAD skills, and data-entry abilities.

  • Computation, math skills and drafting/CAD ability are generally required.
  • Computer skills required to enter data and information in spreadsheets or databases.
  • Preference to applicants who have CAD/OpenRoads Designer experience.

Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern to join our Novi, MI office.

Your role: Gathers, logs and summarizes field notes or other data to be used by technicians or professionals in technical studies or projects. Establishes and maintains records or files of technical data or documents. Performs mathematical calculations. Performs various routine tasks in Bentley OpenRoads Designer. Assists in the preparation of graphic displays and presentation materials. Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About you

EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program.

Education

Must have completed 50 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
