Job summary

C&S Companies is seeking a Highway Designer to join our Orlando transportation team. You will support planning and design of roadway, intersection, and multimodal improvements for public and private clients, contributing to mobility, safety, constructability, and community needs.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, experience in roadway design, and proficiency with AutoCAD and FDOT ORD. This role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and timely delivery of construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Experience in roadway/ transportation design projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and FDOT ORD.
• Familiar with plan production and construction document coordination.
• Knowledge of roadway design basics and traffic control elements.
• Engineer Intern certification or progress toward licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare roadway design documents including alignments and intersections.
• Develop design plans, quantities, specs, and estimates.
• Use 3D modeling tools for roadway design and documents.
• Support rehabilitation and safety improvement projects.
• Coordinate with internal/external disciplines and stakeholders.
• Participate in field reviews and quality-control reviews.
• Apply agency design criteria to project deliverables.
• Assist in issue resolution related to utilities and constructability.
• Contribute to complete construction documents and bidding.
• Maintain organized project files and communicate progress.
